In Record Time!!!
Another tough decision made and the rest basically falls in place!
Gina and Hugh arrived all smiles despite running a little late from battling traffic jams... No better way to leave the woes of the road behind though than to concentrate on the antics of the innocent. Especially knowing the task at hand will result in an addition to family. The worries of the road quickly left behind -at least until the the tail end of the visit when the thought of a return trip surfaced.
After some back and forth, a process I've become very familiar with, a decision was made and another pup named. Moon, as I've been calling him, has been claimed and given the name Scout. That decision leaves just two... Brown and Blue. And as I said... the rest just fell in place.
Justin called earlier in the day to notify me he wasn't going to be able to make his appointment scheduled the day after Christmas due to a change in Holiday plans. Considering the Holiday at hand and a drive to and from that amounts to an all day affair it's completely understandable. Litters that revolve around holidays definitely present their challenges. Add to that my own issue of a litter on the way with a date that's tentative and a reschedule is tough. Justin asked that I help him with his decision saying he was sure any would be fine but given a choice he'd prefer a larger dog...
In my heart I was hoping he hadn't secretly been watching Blue with intent to claim him if available. In the end things work out. Sandy has been Blue's biggest fan from very early on. Based on his previously covered issues and her position on the reservation list, we've spoken many times and extensively over the course of the past 4-5 weeks. She went as far as to tell me, assuming he'd be passed up, they'd come up with a name for him.... weeks ago. The name though has kind of evolved along with him... Originally what was Remington Blue which I shortened in conversation and email to R.B. evolved to Remington Steel. And now... as of a couple days ago, based on the pup himself, they're trying to figure out how to fit Trooper in. Ultimately it sounds like he'll go by Remy but for now, I'll be calling him Remington... and Blue... and My Little Trooper as I've been referring to him for several days.
Justin tells me they've been tossing names around for Brown but it sounds like it's still a name that remains in the air... might be a pup that needs to be seen first -but "Otis" is a strong contender!
All said and done at the end of the day I've got a quiet evening planned.... Maybe catch a decent dinner and a movie. Then tomorrow, with continued cooperation in the way of weather, it's photo day for your babies!
