Well, no surprises here... it's been yet another long day but I did manage to get some clothes shopping done.... At the gas station on the way back from dropping the pups off for their crops... Pretty typical shopping for me really. T-shirts, 3 for $10 can't really be beat! Even if they are advertising "Florida".
Kristin was here pretty early to get Ditto leaving Xypher and I on our own. For the most part the big dogs hung out outside and I gave Xypher the run of the place. He was my house dog for the day and is one sweet pup! Before Ditto left she tried to teach him how to chew shoes and I think they are both going to be experts soon! The learning continued in a different direction with me at the helm. We worked on potty outside and sit 101. Xy did surprisingly well! We topped that off with crate training 101 when I went back to the vet to retrieve the post-ops. He cried for awhile and was still crying when I drove off but was quiet when I returned ... briefly. It didn't take him long to realize I was in the house when I got home. This evening his education continued. Lexi was trying to teach him something... I'm not sure what; maybe that he's a big boy and the days of nursing are over. She alternated roughness with kindness but he quickly tired of the roughness part and went after her. More than once. I think in the end an agreement was reached and he is currently laying at my feet and she, wandering around, comes to check on him periodically. He has somewhat of a perplexed look about him now where she is concerned but he seems to be a very fast learner! It's been fun having the one on one time with him. He follows me everywhere, watches intently when I'm doing something and sits at my feet or plays quietly with a toy when I'm occupied at the computer etc... He did give a couple half hearted whines throughout the day. Missing his brothers and sisters I'm sure! He was quick to console himself when offered a toy or a word though. I now understand the reports I've received from those who picked their pups up yesterday! It seems each has worked their magic to it's full extent! Xyper is no exception
