And that brings us to Brian.... As I'm sure some of you noticed, I posted a call to action directed Brian's way after attempting to reach him by phone only to receive a recorded message and a non-working number. Sadly, It's been a few days now and I've received no response. I must say I'm surprised and somewhat concerned and hope he's O.K. I'm not really sure how to proceed at this point. My sister suggested I send a certified letter which I feel would be a wise move and one I plan to complete Monday. Since I've not yet heard from Brian, I don't really expect I will. But, I also feel I need to hold his position for selection in the unlikely event he surfaces. I'm also torn on what to do with the pup in question but have considered strongly the possibility of keeping her. I'm a firm believer that things generally happen for a reason. I'll make a final decision early this week but at this point in time my plan is to assume Brian's position for selection and will choose which pup to hold back early this week. I'll open things up for all remaining decisions to be made a couple days prior to to crop in the event anyone would like input regarding tweaking the style of their pups' crop. After much consideration, this is the best possible solution I've been able to come up with pertaining to this unanticipated development.
Well, things are starting to happen... slow but sure. Some of you may have noticed the selection process has commenced... and some of you are likely sitting on the edge of your seat.... Erica came for a visit last night and got things rolling by selecting her pup. Orange girl became Violet, as in the flower not the color, by the end of her visit! It seems Erica secretly selected Orange long ago but of course wanted a chance to visit the pack in action before solidifying her decision. Julie must have some kind of mental telepathy because she text-ed me right as I sat down to the computer to post the results of the evening. But it was Adam up next and since it was getting somewhat late and I'm not overly familiar with anyone's schedule, she had to settle for a text to Adam with a hope of a quick return call. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at that household. I'm not sure who's more excited Julie or her girls... I'm sure Dad was excited and anxious too. But as it turns out, we all have different schedules and a quick answer wasn't in the cards. I received Adam's text sent @ 4am when I woke up this morning. Adam chose one of the two girls he had his eye on during his visit a couple weeks ago and Julie also, selected one of two pups she and her family were drawn to during their visit... Specifically, Yellow goes to Adam with the lovely name of Siri and Purple, now Raven will be heading home with Julie.

For some reason a lot of these are pretty grainy. Not sure why but it's too late to fix them now. DOBERMANS PLAYING An Example Of What Four Months Does Growth And Development Remedy Just Shy Of Six Months Well I'm actively working toward getting the photos of the week complete! Man are these guys active!!! Hopefully, if I don't throw my computer, Delbert through the window before nights end, I'll get some photos up in pairs as well as a photo update on each individual pups' page. In the meantime here's a group of four... Green, Maroon, Blue and Red. I will likely be adding some more group photos later! Hope you enjoy... I think they're all looking marvelous! Well, I've got things back up and running but very slowly! I resorted to pulling out my old Dell. Fortunately, or not, it's still loaded with a ton of pictures that I need to convert at some point. For that reason it's been sitting unused in a spare bedroom. It bailed me out once before so maybe I'll keep it until it blows up! Slow is better than nothing.
Still didn't get any photos... by the time it warmed up enough to get the pups out, I realized the PC probably wouldn't cooperate long enough to load them. I spent my afternoon dragging out and then setting up Delbert. Then had to attend my blasted Tuesday meetings. I would say maybe tomorrow I can get the photos done but I dare not say it! If I bite my tongue maybe, just maybe, the photos might happen. The weather report looks favorable. That's a start! I received and E-mail from Adam B. today. He had originally planned to visit and choose his pup this Monday but wrote to let me know something came up and he's not able to get here until the 1st. I still haven't decided how to select which pups will go in for the first cropping appointment v.s. the second. Hopefully some selections will be made next week and things will become a little more clear. At this point since there are 6 girls and 3 boys and the first appointment is for 6 pups and the second for the remaining 3, it might make sense to take all the girls in for the 1st appointment, April 2nd, and have the boys done on the 7th. In any event all pups will be ready for pick-up Tuesday the 8th. Some could be ready on the 6th... If anyone has any scheduling issues that make either of those days, especially the 8th, impossible please contact me so we can work something out. In other news, the pups received their dinner a little later than usual and as a result I gave them a bowl of kibble to keep them busy while I once again prepared their pate' but to my surprise they dug right in and made quick work of it. I gave them another bowl which they wasted no time consuming.... and then another. Apparently they're finally ready to let me off the hook. No more warm mushy and messy meals! Yay!!! Rain yesterday... chilly today. We'll so how things go. Dobes have little cold tolerance and puppies less.
I'm also experiencing some technical difficulties. Monitor keeps shutting itself off. If I disappear, that would be the reason but I assure you your pups are thriving. You can reach me anytime by phone, email or facebook. All links can be found on the top right hand corner of this page. |
