I guess it's time to apologize for the shape of the collars used with this litter. Litter collars that come in enough different colors for a large litter are somewhat hard to find. I always order them online but seems every time I order they're different. This batch has proven to be sub-par for sure. Harmony's orange turned yellowish almost immediately. Case's blue one delaminated and totally fell apart today but has been replaced. And the others aren't the least bit vibrant. Green still looks pretty green and Yellow still somewhat yellow but dirty. Red seemed to hold up pretty well as did Brown.
Pup selection is going well though despite the collars. Diane and her family stopped by this afternoon and selected Pink, a big somewhat laid back girl. They too have had Doberman's in the past... Several over the course of many years. With Diane's selection complete, our last girl, Red automatically goes to a happy Elaine. Then as Diane and her family were readying to leave, Kathy arrived with her family to select their second GMBD pup making today all about the big ones and the reddish hues. They selected Maroon, the largest pup of the litter. He's got some catching up to do before he'll be a match for Persey though. Persey was named after the greek Goddess Persephone and they've decided to name their boy Ajax giving them a matched set; a God to go with their Goddess! They obviously absolutely love Persey and I'm sure will love Ajax just as much!
My plan to take photos of each pup as they were selected didn't materialize. These little ones are being down right uncooperative. If I take one or two out alone they're right at my feet and if I take more than that out they're simply too busy. Their stamina is certainly increasing but I was determined to hang in there with them until they were worn out! It took a while! Enjoying their free for all they decided the dirt pile by the shed was great fun! They also discovered the hole in the side of the shed that allows access in and out! I love them at this age. They're so happy and lively and their confidence grows with each passing day! They're also getting pretty good at coming as a group when I clap and call which helps tremendously. But they're getting demanding; the sign that it's about time to turn them over to you! They're ready for the one on one or family to one attention they desire and deserve.
I did manage to take a slew of photos today and about a tenth of them are decent. I've got many where the pup is missing completely... I've got lots of tail shots and lots that are blurry... and I've got some that are decent. I'll do my best to get them uploaded after work through out the weekend!
Next week brings just one more visit. Brittany and her husband will come and select their boy on Monday. That leaves me the rest of the week and I'll try once again to get some good photos of your kids for their baby books as well as for my site.
