Just Because....

I'm sure by now every one thinks I've packed up and left town.... disappointed that yet another day has passed and a site check reveals not-ta.  Unfortunately Monday was too cold to get the pups out,  I had my meeting Tuesday and things have been, well,  just plain hectic.  See "my other project" and previous post....  Being the animal lovers you are, I'm sure you'll all understand and forgive the fact that I'm late again in getting to the weekly photos.  That's my hope anyway.   Seems Wednesdays are the new Mondays.  Photos or not though, I assure you,  the pups are being very well cared for and they're thriving.  I'm happy to report I no longer have to blend their food and they eagerly eat regular kibble with the simple addition of some warm water.  This weekend my plan is to leave them with a large bowl of dry and separate them from Lex during the day.  
On the opposite side of the spectrum, the pups are starting to do a pretty good job of doing their business on one end of their pup corral while reserving the remainder for sleeping, eating and drinking. It's not consistent yet but a start. One thing that is consistent is that they get more adorable and sociable by the day.  If I haven't seen them for a while, when I enter the room and call them, they become instantly awake and run to the gate to greet.  They're sleeping a lot less and roughhousing a lot more.  And their puppy vocabulary has grown to include squeals at times  :-(    
I thought a couple of them were beating up on Purple the other night but as I watched, I noticed she's not a squealer and did a good job of holding her own.  I also noticed she delivers what she gets.  It seems she's settled in with the rest of the pack like she had never left. 
In other news, we expect another visit Wednesday, this time from Brian. I spoke with Nick Monday and he plans to visit  again Sunday evening and at least get things narrowed down to a couple pups. I too am working on narrowing my choice to a couple pups and have been trying to come up with a name as well.  I think I'm getting close on both fronts. Tomorrow, well actually later today, all the boys will enjoy their outdoor adventure while Brian's here.  I'll snap some group shots then.  I'll get the girls out on my own for their group shots and  I'll try and get an early start and complete their individual photos too.  Until then, I post them safe and sound and itching to get out of their sleeping quarters and puppy play pen....  Weights were taken Monday...  I'll post them today.
