First few hours! Checking out her new digs and new stuff! Looks happy!
Well, it was a long day but the pups are home and doing great. Dove right in to the grub and they're now resting! Unfortunately Orange didn't receive her health certificate and will be staying with me a bit longer. First time I've had a pup fail to get a certificate and it was rough to break the news to the family waiting for her. It seems Orange has a mild (grade 1-2 of 6) heart murmer. It's left to be seen what if any effect that will have on her future. The research I've done states murmers aren't terribly uncommon in pups and often resolve with no ill effect within a few weeks or by 16 weeks of age. Her Vet said as much so it's a wait and see situation for now. My apologies went out to Michelle, Chris and their daughter for a wait that abruptly turned to disappointment. Not sure at this point of their plans as they weigh their options. For now, Orange will be raised as one of my own and we'll begin some basic puppy training as soon as her siblings are on their way. And there will be pictures. Lots and lots of pictures of course as I document her growth and development as I would any other dog in my care.
As far as the rest of the pups go, we'll see you tomorrow. Please send some positive energy for Orange. We're counting on her murmer being of the "innocent" variety. All have been updated. Some, as always were more cooperative than others!
We are having a ball left to our own devices and a few toys while the Turkey and all the fixin's are in the works. Things are smelling really good around here but she says "not this year" -something about our bellies being too immature? Bahumbug we say but it seems to no avail. Maybe next year..... Happy Thanksgiving! Yeehaw! Week seven pup pages are complete! I was down do the wire but week seven actually posted on week seven. :-)
I've had a chance to meet all but two of you and feel awesome about the families preparing to take over the care of my babes! A nice group of people I must say and meeting you was a nice change from the atmosphere of politics we've been subjected to of late. I think I got some pretty good shots of everybody... except Dozer. He had no interest in anything other than my feet today! I'll take him out first next week and make sure to get some good ones of him even if it means I have to wait until he wears out and falls asleep. Soon each of you will be behind the camera and when you snap your shots please remember, I care about these pups and photos and updates not only bring a smile to my face, they serve to assure me they're doing well. Please include me as your pups mature and age. With that it's goodnight and.... have a great weekend! |
