It seems finding a vet that can do a good tape and post can be a challenge. I'll have to do a little more research on the topic but a brief survey comes up pretty empty regarding croppers in Northern Florida. Even so, it shouldn't be that tough to find someone that can post. I got a call from Lindsey last night regarding her dissaticfaction with the job her chosen for the job Vet did for Hallie. Fortunately she called me and we got Hallie fixed up... at least for the next 10 days. It was great to see both person and pup. Hallie's as sweet as I've been hearing. And cute too. Of course I had to take the opportunity to capture a few shots of her while they were here for a visit. Here'a Hallie >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Girl offered up the obligitory fit when asked to spend her first night in the, "uh... you got to be kidding me" crate last night! It actually went pretty smoothly. She cried and or bellowed for about 10-15 minutes all the while pawing and biting at her confines. In the end she settled in and to my amazement slept through the night all the way to 8:30 this morning. A great start I must say. I guess it wasn't too tramatic for her as she willingly went in her open door crate as I enjoyed my coffee and caught up on the news in bed this morning. Naturally she would rather have been on the bed with with me but it will be a while before her legs grow to the length required to catapult herself up. For now, my bed is my sanctuary. :-)
Stuffies are great for the little tikes but as soon as they get big enough - strong enough to start tearing out the stuffings and squeakers they're best avoided in favor of antlers and Kong....
Seems it's been a while, though not that long since I've had a single pup around the house. They are busy little creatures... so adorable and sweet. All they want it seems is your time. My remaining pup from the litter is no exception. Underfoot and in the lap when ever she gets the chance. She struggled some with being the only pup -offered some whining.. and some barking when asked to tend to her own needs while I took care of mine. But she's settling. Ears are coming along well and she has an appointment to see the vet on the 9th to have her cone replaced with her first set of tape and post. Hoping she receives a clean bill of health regarding the murmur on that day too. For now, she's my girl and we're making the best of things. Enjoying the continuation of all things puppy. I've got to admit, I feel kind of bad for her that she didn't get to go home with her intended family as scheduled but I've already had a few calls of interest and I have no doubt she'll soon have a home to call her own. In the meantime, my constantly changing plans put her front and center and the rest waits. Nothing new. At least I get the enjoyment of a pup rather than the work that surronds tornados, hurricanes and general home maintenaince. :-)
