So... It's left to be seen whether my prediction for a Valentines Day litter comes to fruition or not. Getka remains calm, hanging out for the most part on my bed interrupted only by frequent potty breaks. Seems the pups have taken up the space previously alotted for the bladder. She started exhibiting some nesting behavior within her box last night before settling in bed with me. And again this morning.
Generally speaking dogs will skip the meal before pups arrive. It's something I watch for and once it occurs I don't leave them. I've questioned whether or not Getka, being the chow-hound that she is, will hold true to that. I hope so because it's something I've learned to really rely on when judging what I can and can't do as far as errands, or even working in and around the house, are concerned. We're getting close for sure. This morning she wasn't eager to eat and actually left her bowl after consuming about 1/4 of what I'd given her. Honestly unheard of for her!
Shortly after feeding and getting the dogs settled, I had someone come take some measurements for some half doors I'm hoping to have installed in the house. When he left, an hour or so later, I checked Getka's bowl to find it empty. Based on that, I'm not expecting a daytime delivery but Valentines day continues on through mid-night. We'll see how dinner goes this evening...
