Winners all the way around actually. Arelys and Miguel are going big with the addition of their first canine companion. Generally speaking I'm not sure I would recommend a Doberman as a first dog... unless plans include doing everything right! While I spend quite a bit of time in conversation with people before we ever get to the selection process, what I heard from Miguel today confirmed what I knew all along. Their family is more than ready and well prepared for the addition of a dog. And what better breed to start with.... A loving, loyal, intelligent and formidable Doberman! I very much look forward to hearing all about how Mr White settles in and enriches the lives of his family. Congrats Arelys and Miguel on your selection of a nice pup! And congrats Rocky! You're heading to a lovely home with fabulous people who've not taken the addition of you lightly. And lastly, big congrats in advance to a girl, Miguel and Arelys's daughter, Adrianna, who's been begging for a dog for quite a while and doesn't know she's got one coming. You are going to be one fine Christmas surprise for her Rocky! Even if only in the way of a stand in Doberman beanie baby and a card with your photo enclosed for the actual day. She'll have several days to anticipate your arrival and will finally get a chance to see and enjoy your baby pictures from birth on up. She'll learn of you Christmas morning but like the others will not be cradling your being until after the first of the year.
Next up we enjoyed a visit from Bob and Lisa. Their plan, based on a long drive each way, was to get in the general vicinity, overnight it in a motel, come choose their pup early in the morning and head back home. They called, still with lots of light remaining in the day asking about motel suggestions. It just made sense to invite them over early to choose their pup. They chose Mr Green and will be calling him Zeus! Zeus is headed to a great home where he'll carry on living the good life in the country. A fabulous life for any large breed and one a Doberman thrives in. He'll have a stay and home mom and a working dad, along with some four legged siblings. He certainly won't be lacking attention. Seems the day worked out well for everyone. Bob and Lisa can get a start on their trip back home, stop when they feel like it and complete their journey early in the morning. And I don't have to worry about getting up at the crack of dawn to get all the critters, including the pups fed and resettled. Music to my ears!
Tomorrow Max and Simone will head on over to meet and greet their girl, Scrambles, and that will wrap up our visits until after Christmas.
I've got a ton of work to do this evening. Photos have been taken and for the most part selected. Now the task of getting them uploaded and the pup pages updated. I'm pretty confident I can finish them up tonight. Hopefully.

We've got a good start to what the pups will find under the Christmas Tree Christmas morning. And Santa hasn't even been here yet!
My job now, is to keep things safeguarded. Seems like my kids are kind of like I was as a kid. Always wanting to jump the gun.
