Got My Back Dobermans
Presents:
Lexi!
Lovely Alexus She's Got My Back:
This is where it all begins....again! Have had Dobermans in the past and I honestly have to say, all things considered, they were the best dogs I've ever had! I lost one to a thief in my early 20's and at the time, believing I could never find one that could possibly live up to her, I decided to switch breeds. For the past 25 years I have loved and cherished Afghan Hounds. They were and continue to be wonderful companions though it seems they were better city dwellers than dwellers of the country. The upkeep is unbelievable to say the least!
My redesigned life in the country brings me once again to changing breeds...back to my first love. Clean, loving, intelligent, and innately protective velcro dogs..... Did I mention clean? Yes, bright and shiny and clean!
The Doberman!!!
Lexi is an awesome dog and like all Dobies she likes to be in your back pocket at all times. She's takes interest in whatever it is I may be doing whether it's planting trees, working in the garden or kicked back watchin' TV, she's right there with me! That said, she also has an innate understanding that she can't always have her way and is then content to go to her quiet place (the run) to allow me to get some things done without her underfoot. She retains the instinctual protective qualities we expect from a Doberman. She's watchful and aware but is in no way aggressive. She makes her presence known to strangers and that's all it takes. She loves people and is very quick to demonstrate that love once she knows they who come are to be welcomed.
So where did my desire to become a Doberman Breeder originate?
Actually I've owned and loved dogs all my life and have always had a desire to raise some of my own... Just never had the proper arrangement, the space, the right breed or the time and finances to raise pups properly. When I got Lexi, I didn't purchase her with an intent to breed but in Lexi I realized the time was right. Everything was finally in place! I've got the right breed and a great pedigree. I've got the land, the finances and time. And I've got a great dog! My Vet loves her and actually recommended breeding her. His words, "you should breed her", surprised me as most Vets are quick to recommend spaying and neutering! He commended her on her temperament and conformation. That temperament is what I strive to produce in future generations!
