WEIGHTS
First weights are in measured in ounces. Once all pups are over a pound I will begin weighing in pounds and ounces in this format ... 1.1
1.1 will mean 1 pound 1 ounce; not 1.1 pound
A Bit about weights: According to the DPCA site, Doberman pups at birth weigh and average of 10-20 ounces. It's common for them to loose a slight amount of weight during the first 24 hours or so but they should gain steadily thereafter. I typically wait until their 2nd or 3rd day to take and record the first measurement allowing mom and babes a chance to settle in and get to know each other. Lexi generally produces pups that are very close in size and weight. The males of course typically outsize their sisters. I've also noticed, the pups who were born the smallest and those who were born largest don't typically maintain that status throughout their time with me. Fluctuation is the norm.
