Done!
Pups had their first road trip and vet appointment today and like all those that went before them, the group came home a few ounces shy of the ounces they left with. And once again, the Vet said, "wow these are some big pups.... strong pups". In all actuality they're roughly the same size and strength as the others she's worked on for me. But she works on a lot of dogs and frequently does C-sections for a breeder of French Bulldogs. So comparatively I guess my pups would seem big. And strong.
Tails look good and Ritz seems O.K. with the change. Sometimes moms notice and try and heal by being over indulgent with licking which has in the past resulted in lost sutures. I've made progress with my Vet though and she takes extra care to add a stitch and make sure they're secure.
Other than that, no news is good news. Ritz has been jumping up on my bed at night periodically the past couple nights. I guess she misses me. I give her some love and that lasts about as long as it takes for a pup to whimper and back to the whelping box she goes. Remains an excellent mom.
I just posted a fairly lengthy entry on the blog associated with the "current litter" that I'd like everyone to take a look at. It's regarding dog parks and an incident that happened with a pup of my breeding while visiting one.
