Decided it was time for a few photo updates and some news. Pups are still trying to master the art of walking. They're getting better but still have quite a ways to go. Blue, Yellow and Maroon's eyes are beginning to open. Blue is nearly there as hers began to open a couple days ago. Spent some time online today getting ready for the next step... feeding! Ordered the first round of chow online because I wanted to add on a bunch of toys too! These are going to be some spoiled, happy and fun loving puppies :-) I ordered mainly Nylabone and a couple Kong products hoping they are still made in the USA. For any of you who like to shop online, I'd like to suggest Chewy.com They have sales from time to time and you can get some incredible deals there. They also have one of the widest selections of pet gates at reasonable prices if anyone is in the market for one of those.

So cute! I got my puppy fix for the day. Thank you! Quick question though. You said you were ordering food online. My Dad does too. It takes him a few weeks for them to complete his order. So my question ..... is the food we will need to feed online? And if so, how soon should we order it to have it at home in time? Thanks a bunch. They look well cared for!

Good question Natalie... I feed my adults Diamond but it's a little harder to find than some of the more generic foods. I'll be feeding the pups Iams Large Breed Puppy. It was one of 3 recommended by Dr McBride with my last litter. The other two, Evo and California Naturals are fairly high end and harder to come by. I'll be sending each pup off with enough food to wean to whatever each of you ultimately want to feed. And thanks for the compliment. I care well and deeply for each and every one of these little buggers!

So is Diamond the food that you recommend? I am currently feeding my dog Iams. Is there a certain food that you recommend that can be purchased from walmart or petsmart?

My vets office has a new graduate. Less than a year out of vet school. She specialized in genetics and nutrition. She spent 3 weeks at the Purina plant, lab and research development. Said Pro Plan was top notch and ranked up with Fromm for quality. But 20% cheaper. I moved my "hyper" 3 year old Dobie to Pro Plan and saw amazing results. Great coat, finally put on more filler weight. Just my 2 cents. What to feed is so personal to each person. Hope I didn't step on any toes!

I don't really recommend Diamond Aric or any other food for that matter. I do recommend anyone that has a dog sign up @ http://dogfoodadvisor.com/ There you can research all the various dog foods including their ratings and ingredients and make an informed choice. Diamond, when I began feeding it many years ago rated better than it currently does but my dogs have always done well on it. I noticed it's rating had slipped when I researched food for my last litter. But, because my dogs have always done well on it, I saw no need to switch. I'm starting the pups on Iams because it's one of three Dr McBride, who does the cropping, recommended for my last litter. Also Diamond is a bit harder to come by. Tractor Supply carries it and it can be found at most Feed Stores. I notice in the Doberman world many people feed Orijen, Call Of The Wild, Blue Buffalo and some other pretty high end pricey foods. I've also noticed people tend to spoil their Dobermans... lol
