Day One Of Our Outdoor Adventure A Success!!!

I'm currently working on the beginnings of our individual pup pages for the litter and hope to get them published before retiring for the night. The pups did amazingly great today. Pretty eager to explore and little to no startle response from any of them which is a wonderful thing! A couple howled when they lost sight of me but that's typical and quickly remedied. I'm never more than a few yards away and don't allow them to fret in the earliest of days... Today we did solo outings. Just me with the individual pups so I could grab some pics of each. Tomorrow they'll go explore as a group. Once they get a taste of the wild under their belt, they're usually rearing to go for more. And comradere helps open them up. Gets their minds off themselves and me and allows them to discover play. Always fun to watch! They're entering the stage where toys and games of tug-o-war will become a regular part of their life.

Seems their appetite has kicked up a notch the past couple days. Ritz is beginning the weaning process. Last night when she jumped in the box she remained standing forcing them to stand and balance on their back legs to nurse. If that weren't difficult enough, she didn't stay standing in one spot long. Needless to say, there was little nursing to be had. Today I increased their portion of feed each meal and they lapped it up! Tomorrow I'll up it a little more. I always like to give them a bit more than they'll take in a sitting... at least until they become gluttons.
