Half way there... We are 4 weeks and one day.
I've opened the pup pages and included two sets of photos in the course of the day.
I celebrated part of my Thanksgiving day attempting to take the first round of individual pics of the pups. Finished them up the following day.
But.... Once I had a chance to review them I wasn't all that happy with my skills as photographer and decided to skip posting. Additionally time was marching on and the pups were approaching their four week mark at which time they traditionally experience their first outdoor photo shoot. Often their first page entry.
But today when I pursued last weeks photos, once again with a fresh set of eyes, I decided I could piece together enough photos for a respectable 3ish week entry. Then keeping with tradition and an eye on the weather, I introduced each to the great outdoors on Monday for week four. Fortunately...
We haven't had a chance to venture outside since our photo shoot due to the cold snap. Monday was chilly but nothing like today and yesterday. We didn't made it out of the 50's. Too cold for pups of this age. Fortunately the next couple days are going to be considerably warmer and I'm looking forward to getting them out as a group.
Again it's been another week of change. Getka was beginning to spend less time with them and I stepped in to lend a feeding hand... She was still interested of course but her actions creating more havoc than good. She'd jump in the whelping box, give a quick snack and jump out again. Or she'd lay on her ottoman and watch. It's not unusual but I always see it as teasing behavior. And it didn't take long before the first pup was out of the box. Pink was first and the next day I found Tan and Green out. So.... in order to avoid injury from a fall they have graduated out of the whelping box and into the pup corral in the neighboring room. I always miss having the ability to look at them from the vantage point of my bed... but on the up side, I get a chance to spend some time with some of the others here. Rotation of the dogs....
It's getting late but I'll try and upload a slide show tomorrow of some of the shots I've taken throughout the week.
