Finally a much awaited litter has arrived.

And as late as they were, so am I. Sorry it took me a few days, five now, to get my pages published. It's been a busy few days between whelping the litter, catching up on sleep, and then making a bunch of phone calls to notify people we had pups after returning deposits a couple weeks ago along with the disappointing message it didn't look like the litter was going to materialize. Again. I also had a few of my own previously scheduled appointments and then an appointment for tails and dewclaws which we did Wednesday. Fortunately, the schedule as it was, allowed my first 3 days, uninterrupted, with Getka and her babes to assure they were settled. And she's been an absolute rockstar in my absence during my outings the past couple days and as I sit here creating pages.  I guess practice makes perfect. When leaving I had flashbacks of her 1st litter and my 1st outing when I came home to a completely destroyed whelping box. Well, not the box itself. Just the bedding. Pups were completely buried within a mess of torn up fleece and egg crate. Initially I panicked severley but fortunately all pups were ok.  Even so it was a site I'm not likely to forget and has created a good degree of anxiety within anytime I have to leave a litter when they're young. I'm a homebody so that rarely happens actually.

Additionally and on a side note,  I'm moving a little slow as I'm on the backside of Covid... my Christmas gift delivered unknowingly by a dinner guest on Christmas. I'm feeling considerably better now but energy remains a little low and I seem to be experiencing a little brain fog. Hopefully my writings are coming across clear. Anyway, I'm happy to have the beast mostly behind me. I honestly can't believe it took as long as it did to contract it.

So..... this is the page to bookmark and visit often to get updates including photos of the litter. I don't post daily but aim for every three days or so. You will notice a link below each post for you to add comment. And I encourage comments and also questions. If you have a question, it's likely other pup owners may share the same question. It also warms my heart to know you are following and watching your pups reach their milestones and flourish under my care.  The pups begin their outdoor adventures around 4 weeks of age and I also create individual puppy pages at that time. You will find them under the current litter tab. Weights are obtained weekly and that documentation is also found under the current litter tab. !st weights are already posted.

Puppy selections typically happen around the six week mark but I think this is the first litter I've had that there are actually no selections to be made, outside the one I will make when choosing between the two girls. This
based on sex, color and litter size. Even so, I prefer people meet their pups before take home day. I think they remember those they meet and I assume it may make their transition from my home to yours a little easier. So, selections or not, I will still open things up for meet and greets by appointment around the 6 week time frame. I look forward to meeting each of you. Or seeing you again in one case.

Below are a few pics of night of delivery and next day. Many more to follow over the course of the next 8 weeks.
