Wow two weeks already!
The pups spent their two week birthday safe and sound in the security of their whelping box with mom while maybe noticing- or not- some new sensations. A bit of construction involving a complete makeover of the multipurpose mudroom, pup room, and laundry room is underway! While things haven't been terribly loud, timing of the project related to the stage of pup development was taken into consideration. At this point they're just on the cusp of developing the ability to hear. Majestic is use to the sounds of hammers hitting nails and saws ripping through boards so remains unfazed as she cares for her pups behind closed doors of the neighboring room. The makeover is designed with ease of use and ease of cleaning in mind and will remove the unsightly's from view.
Week two weights were obtained this evening and once again I'm happy with the gains achieved. Most gained over a pound during the course of the past week and those who fell short came close. Pink remains our smallest pup but carries a respectable weight. And Green has taken the lead weighing in at just over 3 pounds.
Tomorrow morning to afternoon we'll take a quick break from the project at hand and try to snap a few pics of the babies. And soon, some pics of the room near completion just in time to accept it's first litter. I'm excited as I watch the transformations before me- both of pup and space!
