One Male Pup Is Available To Approved Home! Unfortunately I will not know exactly which pup until roughly Tuesday the 19th. Once known he will be highlighted individually. Fortunately I had the foresight to see this coming and had him scheduled for his crop along with the rest of the pack despite his original depositor's desire to have him cropped by a Vet of their choosing. The Girls! Pink and Orange Red "The Watcher" and Green Blue and Purple And The Weeks Most Uncooperative Duo... Shortchanged In Entries As A Result! Yellow and Black Hi Pup Pals.
Just a quick note regarding the FB group. First of all, Joe was kind enough to set one up for everyone's future enjoyment. Thank you Joe! I sent access links to each of you via e-mail today but it seems based on a couple emails I've received the links provided, 2 of them, didn't work. I think it had more to do with FB settings than the actual link. I've changed the group status from "Secret" to "Closed" and assume that will remedy the problem. The page or group name remains unchanged. That being the case you should now be able to do a FB search for the name of the group if the link provided in my latest e-mail to you still doesn't work. Hope this helps. Goes To Pink! Not because she's any better or worse than any other pup... simply because she kept me entertained and my camera busy as she took a serious interest in the tether tug. I set the camera to action and went to it as did she! For her efforts she wins title of pup most fun to photograph this week and for that gets her own entry! Some week five extras. Four for each. I think Black collared boy deserved a repeat of his photo shoot this week. Too much activity on that one. Most of his shots when put to the computer were blurry. Maybe he'll be more cooperative next week. Seems there's always one that gives me trouble each week. They take turns. Generally there's one or two though that make life easy to make up for the unruly's. Fun, sweet pups! A slow process. Facebook is quicker! Any interest in a "Litter Specific" Facebook Group among you? Small group... private for litter owners and their family. I've got a few out there now. People seem to enjoy them. Especially when their pups are young. Some of you have questioned what I'm feeding the pups. The answer is Victor Hi Pro Plus. Regardless of what each of you chooses to feed, I encourage you to look at the nutrient content, ratings and history of recalls of the foods under consideration. Dogfoodadvisor.com is a great place to get all that done. You can also sign up there to get e-mail notifications of any recalls as they're identified whether they be recalls of foods or treats of which there are a plethora.
The weekly photo shoot is complete and weights done. Now to get everything uploaded. Should have each pups page finished late this evening. They're doing great. For the most part weights are staying pretty consistent and their play drive increasing steadily.... mainly with each other. I was able to intrigue a couple of them today with the Tether Tug I purchased for Galtero that he used minimally. It can be tough to select toys... what works for some doesn't necessarily interest others. Well, enough chat and on to uploading if I'm ever to get it done... stay tuned. Yesterday, as you saw in the slideshow, the pups experienced confinement in the great outdoors for the first time while I did some chores near by. A few challenged the bars. A couple, mainly Green and Pink, gave the toys a whirl but for the most part they napped under the sling bed as a group. The top of the sling bed reserved for play. Today after breakfast I set up their new indoor habitat and officially graduated them from the whelping box. Their new abode is complete with shavings for potty area, a water station and sling bed. This evening there were a couple big potty's ON the bed but considering it was their first day that's not too bad. Fortunately the canvas is washable and within a day or two the pups should figure things out. Today each received their first bath too. Well sort of a bath. More like a shower without soap. Just a thorough rinsing in the sink. Originally it seemed a bit of a shock to the system... the noise and sensation. But they were all very quick to settle and actually seemed to enjoy the luke warm water. They seem too to be developing some trust in me. If they're unsure i provide support and whatever it is I'm asking of them they try to conform. I try to avoid being in a hurry when I'm dealing with my pups and generally give them time to figure things out. The photo above was taken when I asked them to come forward for dinner as a group. That's the funny thing about pups of this age... everything new is suspect. In the whelping box, if I ask them to come forward they came quickly as a group standing against the wall with their front feet over the top. In a new set up they are reluctant to come. Two I retrieved for fear the others would eat all the grub while they were still hanging back. Those two, Green and Black. None actually jumped out of the corral. I'd lift them over when they came close and carry them to their mash. Today. Maybe tomorrow they'll be ready to jump out. They're smart little buggers. It was obvious this evening they recognized the sound of the blender. Hearing it, they got pretty vocal. They knew what was in store for them and wanted to get at it... but their confidence was in the newly familiar. Their sling bed with each other. As it turned out much of the mash was gone by the time Green and Black got up to the plate. I quickly remedied that problem though by whipping up another smaller batch. They're up to eating four cups split between them each meal and this evening got an extra cup. And they're cleaning their bowl each time so I'll continue to increase until they leave a little behind. Black ventured off after a little play and helped himself to the goods contained in moms bowl. He didn't stay there long but seemed to know exactly what to do with his find. It's hard to believe crops will be complete four weeks from today. The time has really flown by. Topped off with goodnight kisses from all with the exception of Red... and a healthy dose of puppy breath! I think it helped that I had just eaten an Oreo! Weights are posted.
Hot... so short and sweet. But a really good day two adventure. I'll try and put a slide show together this evening... as usual I had camera in tow.
