I just love it when things go according to plan. My trip to Wildwood was uneventful and to my pleasant surprise filled with fair skies the whole way. The pups were finished and waiting for me when I arrived. But first I was greeted with a bag full of the customary post op meds and traveling papers, ie health certificates, for each. I took a minute for a quick facebook post to the group in an attempt to put some minds at ease and I'm sure some smiles on some faces. Then we loaded up en route for home. The traffic was a bit snarly off and on with 3-4 accidents noted during the 50ish miles we drove back to Hawthorne. Seems people are always in a hurry to get started on their Holiday plans and all too often the hurry simply doesn't pay out. Not for those in the hurry and unfortunately not for those who end up in their way. Fortunately today we didn't fall into either category.
Once home it was basically a repeat of Thursday. I unloaded the pups giving them a quick potty break and romp and followed that up with dinner which they seemed more than ready for. A quick check on the pups that stayed home, and my own pack found them well but hungry too. Once their needs were met, I ventured out to resume the last of my photos of the litter. Photos of the newest cone-heads as seen above looking like little Doberman Shriners!
And I'm officially exhausted but somehow, still going!
Trent and Paula have already posted an update and a couple photos on the litter page of Jinx who without question, is settling in to her new home beautifully. She looks confident and happy and they happy with her!
I too have photos to post but because I've got an early and most likely long day coming at me, those photos are going to have sit on the back burner for a day or two. Administering meds and preparing for puppy send off is about all I've got left in me for the day.
Thursday the final two pups, Klaus and Einstein will venture off and my life and the lives of my pack will return to a certain degree of normalcy. I always miss the pups and each unique little personality when they leave but it's great to see others enjoy them as I have. And once again, I say there's a reason the legal age of departure for pups is set at eight weeks. These pups are ready. Ready to begin learning and ready for the one on one attention they crave at this age and stage. I wish them well in life and have done all I can to assure them a great start in that direction. And once again, I'm overjoyed with the people who have stepped up to take over their care.
