So Majestic celebrates mothers day with her pack of pups while I continue to work on dog runs and such for my pack of dogs. Still working on creating individual runs in the event they have to be left unattended in them. Smaller but safe= that's what we're going for. And the ability for them to run the property once again if only in pairs. We're getting there. I'm still having difficulty accepting the fact they can't all just get along. It's heartbreaking to me. But they're family and family stick together. We do what's necessary and best for the family unit.

I don't have kids of the two legged variety. But the dogs- they are my kids. Each, like all kids with their own unique personalities. Majestic has been such an incredible mom and I can honestly say each of you waiting for one of her pups is in for a treat. Between her and I doing what we do, she's got some gorgeous and very much loved progeny out there. And I expect this litter to be no different. I'm saddened that timing is such it prevents me from keeping one of her offspring as my own. Had always thought I would... had always wanted to but I really need to regain stability within the pack before adding additional Dobermans whether they be of my own breeding or others. Even so, I get enjoyment knowing they will, like others before them, bring great joy to their people. But it must be remembered they're babies. Babies with great potential! As pups, there will be trials and challenges of course but in the end, if you do your part, Dobermans truly are the best companions you can ask for. I always say the end result is directly related to the time and attention invested along the way. Invest in them... and they will bring you happiness beyond measure. Many of you know this... you've experience the breed in the past or are current guardians. For those of you new to the breed all I can say is don't waste their incredible intelligence. Use and exercise their brain! These dogs truly can do it all. They've got what it takes. You just need to ask and provide the direction. Each of you were selected to be care takers of these pups based on my belief, through conversation, that you have what it takes to meet their needs. Once their needs are met, the sky is the limit. They truly do aim to please!
While waiting for your pups, reading posts and viewing photos, I'd love to hear
you've also researched the breed. Read... watch some training videos and gear up. Be prepared. Be prepared to have some fun but make it fun with a purpose.
Your Pups... With a shine that only a great mom can bring!
Tails and dew claws are looking good- healing well!
And yellow collared boy has the beginnings of an opening eye!

Having dobermans since I was 9( I am 55 now) I can say that Debi couldnt have said it better. Batman inherited a toy on a recent trip I took. Its a tough one with a hardy squeak in the middle. The last 2 days we have been working on him using his paw to squeak when I ask him to. Needless to say first thing he did this morning he brought me the toy...laid it down and waited for me to give the command to squeak. He of course promptly did so he got his 'oh my what a good boy' in my laughing voice. He has no wish to play tug with this toy, it is now strictly for squeaking. Batman is 4.5 years old and loosely related to Jess. So believe debi when she says they are smart. Something tells me this boy will be learning til the day he dies. So smart he truly taxes my ability to think up new things to teach him. So be warned....and thrilled!! to get one of these pups. I know I sure am, and counting the days til she comes home and I have to start learning even more tricks to teach lol.

Those are definitely some healthy looking pups! They already look so big! Moms face says she is in heaven too. Shame this will be her last litter, she looks to really be loving having a bunch of babies around.

Yep, she does enjoy her pups. And they thrive. Generally good sized pups at the end of their 8 weeks with me. Currently, still little but with nice plump bellies.

Debi, you are correct. They are so intelligent and look to please. As I mentioned, this will be my fourth dobe. In the past I have done minimal training, as Cindy and I , both worked. However, now that we are both retired, I have been vigorously scouring YouTube for as many obedience training videos as I can. I am really excited to be able to spend all day with my new boy to really challenge his brain and body. The pups look extremely happy and healthy and mom looks no worse for wear, after her rocky delivery. Can’t wait to see them.

I agree- many great training videos on YouTube. There's also a FB page I follow called Baron The Doberman. Unfortunately Baron passed recently- he was truly one fabulous dog!!! The guy took his page down for a while. Needed time to sort through his feelings and find direction. He asked viewers for input and eventually reopened the page, He's now active there again, posting older videos along with associated training tips. Whether one follows the page for the tips or simply to witness an example of the intelligence and willingness- the work he did with his dog and the bond they shared is nothing short of amazing.

Debi, just as an FYI. We have decided on Zuka as our big boys name.
