The cone-heads return! And as you can see, they were famished and ready for dinner and a drink. They were also a rambunctious group when released from the confines of the travel crate and bounced around the yard with glee thoroughly enjoying their freedom. Their outing today was short, just enough to relieve themselves, stretch their legs, eat their chow and of course dirty their cones a little. |
And tomorrow, if I'm not mistaken is the big day for four as Green Collared Male, Rebel, Easton and Penny join their families. Blue collared Male will be staying with me until he receives his first tape and post at which time he'll be set to fly to Louisiana... an exception made to my "I'd rather not ship" policy based on circumstances and referral. He'll enjoy the company of Zoey for a few days of his stay at least as her humans complete some previously scheduled travel. Sounds like the pups that departed yesterday are effectively working their magic on their people and I'm sure these guys and gals will as well.

The BIG DAY is almost here. My daughter and son-in-law just arrived from Dunedin. They will be driving me tomorrow to get Rebel. We will be leaving here around 8:30. So excited to see my little "cone head" Anxious to see how Bella will react to her new brother. I want to thank you for such beautiful Dobermans. Will see you tomorrow. Let the games begin. LOL

Slept by my side the entire ride home. We will have to master the 5 steps to the house. Made himself right at home. First thing...grabbed Bella's toy. Bella is not quite sure what to make of him. Runs up to him then runs away. Laying right at my feet while I type this. What a sweet Rebel Boy.

Sounds like he and Bella will be friends before you know it Brenda! Play behavior from Bella??? Hopefully you've worn him out good today and he'll sleep through the night too! He was and easy-going pup for the most part. Maybe that trend will continue and he won't grow to fulfill his name! :-)

Hi, my name is Dixie Rebel Yell (AKA Brown) I arrived at my new home yesterday. My first set of stairs. My new Mommy had to show me how to climb. It was a long way up. (5 steps) I met my sister Bella. She has long hair and I think she's afraid of my cone head. I try to play with her but she runs away, so I took her toy. My mommy says she named me right. She heard my Rebel Yell all night. Bella tried to get under the pillow to get away from the noise. Mommy thinks I'm very smart, I learned how to go down the stairs today. It's very hard. My back end tries to beat my front end to the bottom. I hope I can let Mommy sleep tonight. I will try very hard to be a quiet Rebel. Oh, Mommy said I was doing great on potty training.

All things in good time Rebel! Each new day a new experience for a while I'm sure. Better let mom get some sleep though so she's got some energy to wear yours down... Bella will come around. You'll soon be fast friends; just wait and see. Nothing a good ole fashioned game of tug o war wound fix... Keep up the good work my pup... your mommy thinks you're pretty smart but I know for a fact she's seen nothing yet. Soon she'll "know" you're super smart! :)

Appointment with Dr. McBride Monday 16th. Rebel still giving that rebel yell all night. Maybe tonight's the night I get to sleep. Rebel is doing so well fitting in that I can't complain about missing sleep. He sits on command and is doing great on his potty training. Had some serious rain yesterday and could not take him out, I put down some puppy training pads and he uses them like a pro. What a wonderful puppy. You should be proud to have bred such great pups.

Thanks Brenda, I'm proud of my pups... and dogs. Hopefully Rebel has learned by now to quiet in his crate at night... Do you keep it in you bedroom. That seems to help. Dobes hate to be separated from there people... if you're there and they can't see you they seem to worry. If you're not there or busy doing things they seem ok with it... when all is quiet they seem to have a need for closeness. Glad some basic obedience and Rebel's potty training is coming along :-)
