Well, I must say it seems a little quiet around here tonight.  I miss those sweet little faces and innocent eyes gazing back at me. It's always a bittersweet time. As I'm sure each of you reading this has discovered by now, along with the joy that comes with a new pup so comes a period when it seems your lives have been turned a little upside down. Routines come pretty quick though and I'm sure each of you will have a pretty solid one set up within a weeks time.

For me it was a little rough toward the end but we made it. I even managed to get a few photos of the whirling dervishes before each headed out for their new homes  -with the exception of Petra or course who joined Julie rather than coming home with the rest of the pack and Nebula who remained in all her glory, natural. While her litter-mates were away and it was just Nebula and I, she received a proper introduction to housecleaning 101 and in no time flat she was supervising the job. Shortly after reaching supervisory status she was out like a light for a mid day nap and all I could do was look at her and say... yep, just like a boss!

I'd like to thank each of you for sending me updates of your pups as they settled in when you arrived home. I think this is the first time I've heard something back about each and every pup the day they departed. It's rewarding to see them blend in so quickly to new and unfamiliar surroundings and confirms what I already know...  that my heart can rest easy.

It was awesome to see some familiar faces, to meet some new and to know the pups I've poured my heart and soul into will be cherished. I think it's safe to say we all share at least one thing in common, our love of the breed. Our love of the Doberman.

Once I get the last of my work weekend complete I'll share a few of the photos I've received as well as the departure day shots I took. I hope for continued updates as always!  Photos received, as has been done in the past, will be added to each pups individual page. It's awesome to watch them grow and reach their full potential!

For now, I hope you're nights are filled with peace...  and quiet.

Phew...  another long day! We went through our normal routine of a quick potty break and short stretch of the legs and concurrent photo session. The latter simply to show that these pups come home from their crops ready to roll. Dinner, thank goodness the pate' thing is behind me, was prepared...  and off to bed they went. I try and get them quiet pretty quick in order to let their ears begin the healing process and avoid as much oozing as possible. For the most part they were cooperative. I'm hoping to get my final set of photos tomorrow...  weights were obtained at the office today and I'll post them this evening or in the morning. If you're reading this, please post comment of your approximate ETA so I can work on photographing them according to their anticipated time of departure. Excited to meet each of you!

The Countdown

Well tomorrow's the big day for Otto, Jade, Mako, the Maya's and Petra as they head in for some breed specific beautification. I know it's always a worry and all I can say is your pups will be in very qualified and caring hands. The best!

Nebula had her trip to the Vet yesterday for the purpose of a once over and to gain her health certificate. She passed with flying colors and compliments from my local Vet so I have no concerns regarding health certificates for the others. Petra will be leaving me tomorrow as Julie, who is seasoned in ear care plans to pick her girl up immediately post crop from the clinic. Nebula will be introduced to her first partial day flying solo while I'm out to deliver and then retrieve her litter-mates. Once home and settled I'll post a quick note here to let everyone know how things are going.

I'm sorry I've been missing in action the past several days. Unfortunately I just couldn't spare the time for photos as I had some pretty pressing things to take care of following the storm. And honestly I've simply been too exhausted at the end of each evening to be very effective blogging. There have been some late nights and early mornings but rest assured I've continued to meet the needs of your pups. I can tell they're missing me though...  they're at an age where they crave attention so they should welcome loads of one on one when they finally find their way to your homes.

Until tomorrow; Goodnight!

One Step Forward

Ten steps back! Curve balls...gotta love 'em! Ugh!!! I arrived home from work Friday night to a not so pleasant surprise! Not to worry anyone though! Your pups and mine as well as all other critters who reside here survived their very 1st believed to be tornado. The first thing I noticed as I drove up? My Cypress tree was down in the front yard. I didn't think too much of it at first because the tree was known to have some health issues. Next I noticed things in disarray on the porch. But wasn't until I walked out to meet the dogs that I realized what had blown through wasn't just an ordinary storm. A quick scan revealed what appeared to be metal roof sections strewn about the yard and my first thought was oh no! Or holy cow or WTH or something along those lines...  and my mind took me to "I hope every one's ok".  Fortunately they were. The dog run panels had shifted position and there were limbs both big and small everywhere but everyone escaped unscathed and seemingly unfazed.  The whole ordeal was an odd finding really as the weather  in general was pleasant when I arrived. I neither witnessed or heard about any severe weather while at work in Gainesville 25 miles away.

I ended up taking the day off Saturday and another today in order to assess things and make sure all enclosures etc were critter safe and to assure things around the house were secure before any more damage is done. As it turned out, the horse fence needed and still needs repair, a huge limb on the back of the house needed to be cut and removed to get a look at what kind of havoc it played etc etc etc. The roof on the woodshed needs to be repaired or replaced as does the roof on the porch portion of my house. So the clean up and rebuild begins. I need to do what I can do this week so I can get some guys in next to complete the things I can't.

Just so very thankful none of my animals whether they be chickens, pups, dogs or horses were injured. Not only were they not injured, it was business as usual for them. They demonstrated no signs of stress, simply greeting me in their happy to see me way.

I'm also of course thankful there was no major damage...  just some basic work and clean up and an increased sense of urgency to complete some projects already on the too do list. The porch roof specifically has always bothered me as the skin used is more appropriate for a barn. And the horrendous looking wood shed/pump house has always been a flat out eyesore.  All things in due time ...  But, as you drive up to claim your pups and the place looks a mess , please know, I typically have shingles in all the right places and the trees are generally upright. it's going to take a little time to get things back in some form of order.

As far as your pups go, they are doing fabulous. They are Dobermans. They seem to be enjoying
their time in the smaller dog run. They take naps, recharge and happily play in and about the attached dog house as they listen to chain saws and cussing in the distance.  JK about the cussing part.

It's actually just another beautiful day in paradise! :-)

Extras

What a tough week it was behind the lens of the camera. As a result each pup has only one entry to their wall. The slide show below is comprised of extras from your pups' solo shoots that didn't make the cut!

Ran Out Of Time!

But for what ever it's worth I did manage today to get a few decent pictures of the last of the group. And I know what you're thinking....  What good are pictures if they aren't posted. Well tomorrow's another day and gives you a reason to check back in. I hoping next week the yellow flies will be a little less thick and the pups a little more cooperative!!! O.Maya and Petra especially! Petra kept running back to the rest of the pack and O.Maya continues to demonstrate an incredible degree of Velcro. She's stickin' like glue. Otto was all about the toys and very active during his photo op.  Each litter I say I've got to get a camera that does a better job with action to speed my efforts along but once again I'm struggling to capture a shot let alone any action. At this age rarely are they still unless they're sleeping.  Which is what I need to be doing right now.  I'll give it my all to get each pups page updated after work tomorrow. Sleep well; your kids are already out for the night.
