As expected Ritz welcomed her own to the GMBD family. And I'm most happy to report the litter came with zero complications. Yay!!! To top things off Ritz deserves an award of excellence in mothering. She's making life easy for me. On checks I find her calm cool and collected with Enya playing in the background. Frequent checks though are a habit engrained and are something I can't not do. Just not my nature. As I did with Remedy I spend some time with Ritz and the pups during the day while I catch an episode of Grey's Anatomy here and there. In doing so I'm able to get a feel for the vibes within the room. Fortunately the vibes are nothing but serene.
Kind of odd to have two litters in the house at the same time with two completely different sets of needs. Neighboring rooms each with it's own vibe. The serene v.s. the hell raisers. :-)
Your pups are doing great... the week has given us some decent weather which we appreciated and took advantage of. Earlier in the week and today the babes enjoyed group outings with yours truly. But Thursday afternoon and Friday we changed things up a bit. They were basically left to their own devices and imagination for a few hours each day within the confines of the small dog run. Set just off the back of the house I was able to check on them from the bedroom window while at the same time sitting whelp watch with Ritz. Pups as a group are pretty good at entertaining themselves given a few safe toys and the company of each other. Their stamina's increasing daily and space and freedom to run within a safe space is good for them. There, they're also exposed to the likes of a dog house for rest as well as the sling bed which they've grown accustomed to indoors.
The time is flying by! Page updates and weights due once again tomorrow... seems I just did it.
I've got a slide show to compile of photos taken though the week. The photos are slow to load though so the plan is to set them up and come back at some point tonight when they're complete to post.... for now all you get are words. The week in review. And I get dinner, an episode of Grey's Anatomy and a couple hours of those serene vibes I mentioned earlier.... with Ritz and the newbies.
In the photos that are set to follow you'll have to look closely to identify your pups by the collars they wear. With the exception of Otis, our Brown collared boy, who was found naked this morning and remained naked during todays outdoor adventure. An adventure where they worked feverishly on the landscape. While they're all able to multi-task some concentrated, for the most part, on perfecting the holes they started early in the week while others used their skills to trim the foliage. Both jobs though remain a work in progress.
