What a litter... Naturally, with every litter the hope is that all pups are so close in appearance and in behavior that the selection process is a difficult one. That though is not always the case. On occasion a "special" pup is thrown into the mix. In this litter it's become apparent there are two. One, the small is obvious. The other, Red, presents with his own piece of individuality. Lets call it a birth mark, a mark of distinction, an identifier or a flaw. The mark first became apparent to me a couple weeks ago as what basically looked like some sort of scratch. I didn't think too much of it at the time, applied some ointment and planned to keep an eye on it. Several days later I noticed some white hairs low on his hip and a few days later a few toward the top of his hip. Oddly, what you see in the photos are more distinct than what appears to the naked eye. In some of the photos it seems he's got a hip with what appears to be a crescent shaped moon on his left hip. Truth be told, I'm not sure what it is, why it is or where it came from. I'm also not sure it will stay and if it does how it will appear on him as an adult. Time in this case... for both.
