Pupdates!

Well the final four are complete and we're home with all proper documentation in order. Pups are currently resting with a little barking going on. Again, I'm trying to keep them relatively quiet for the evening. The three boys, Green Zeus, Zeke and Tristan bounced around as soon as released from the crate that contained them on our way back home. Unfortunately it was drizzling when we arrived. But I gave them a little breath of fresh air, a chance to stretch their legs and a few minutes to shake off the cobwebs of surgery.
Drita is already getting acclimated to her new surroundings as Suzy and Jeff met me and took their pup home straight from the office. That first evening post crop can be a great bonding time as the pups remain a little subdued from the anesthesia. In general, I like to keep my pups overnight though so I can assess them the next morning and make sure they're behaving at that time like I've always known them too. Fortunately they always have.
Scrambles too, is settling in to her new surroundings as Max and Simone came to pick her up while the boys and Drita were undergoing their breed specific beautification.
It's great to already see some photos streaming in and to see the pups settling in with a good degree of confidence to the previously unknown. The reports without photos describe the same scenario. I'm happy with the litter and carry a feeling of serenity knowing I'm passing them to good and capable hands. An important part of breeding I think... getting to know the people who have opened their hearts and homes assuming the role of their caretaker going forward. The main reason I don't care to ship. Just not personable enough for me... or for my pups. Hoping for another peaceful night and the same for each of you!

It must a huge relief. They all made it thru surgery and are at or ready to go to their new homes. Job well done.

Yes Pauline it is a relief. Although I've got great confidence in Dr McBride, you never know when a pup, or dog for that matter, might have an adverse reaction to some component of anesthesia with devastating result. It's always great to pick them up and see them recognize me and pep up. They are coddled/cradled by staff there as they're coming out from under anesthesia. I really can't say enough about the care they receive not only by Dr McBride herself but by all staff at Sumter County Animal Hospital.

Well today is 1-19-18, and I wanted to post here because I wanted it to be available to all new potential puppy parents out there. I have always wanted a pet dog. For many reasons my husband and I held off getting one. But I think we were just waiting for the perfect pup to come along. Then I started to follow Debi and her dobie family...and something clicked for me. We thought it over and over and then decided yes let's do it, then we missed it...but it was because this beautiful bundle of puppy fur we lovingly call Rocky was out there coming for us...we had no clue what to expect and still don't lol...but with such great guidance that Debi has given us throughout this time, it has been unbelievable. Everyday there is something new...something funny, something just wonderful. Not all rainbows and butterflies but lots and lots of smiles! Debi your care and knowledge and love of Rocky was so engraved in him that he can't help but be such great additions to our family. He is so much more then a pet to us. He truly is a part of our family. So again, thank you for everything, for taking such great care of our boy!!! And although my knowledge of breeders is extremely limited to you, I have no doubt in my mind or heart that you do this more out of love. That is worth so much more!!! I hope that anyone out there looking to expand their families with a puppy, find someone like you to guide them.

Arelys! Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write them. I think I'll do the magical copy and paste and move them over to my testimonial page. I know you and Miguel put a great deal of thought into adding a pup to your family. I'd like to thank you for that... and for placing your confidence in me as your breeder. And yes, there is a great deal of love involved in the process of raising a litter of pups. Breeding is something I've always wanted to do and it is all that I anticipated it might be. One of just a few things in life I feel a sense of passion for. It just fits me... who I am. Breeding involves a great deal of work, as you've seen, but it's so rewarding to watch my pups go off and enrich the lives of the families they join. The relationships I've developed with my puppy parents along the way is an aspect of breeding I honestly didn't anticipate but it's an aspect I very much enjoy! I'm thrilled to hear of your happiness with Rocky and I'm here with you and for you for life. Enjoy your boy!
